A Clermont man remained in the Hall County Jail late Thursday morning after being charged earlier in the week with sexual molestation of a teenage girl.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
Joseph Tyler Delaney, 24, faces four felony charges, two for child molestation and two for aggravated child molestation. His victim was under the age of 16 at the time of the crimes.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) was notified of the crimes last October after the victim disclosed details of the incidents to a relative. An investigator with HCSO’s Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) determined Delaney committed the crimes between Nov. 2024 and last September. The sexual assaults occurred at Delaney’s residence in Clermont and at a residence in Gainesville where the victim’s mother lived. Delaney and the victim had known one another for several years.
Following interviews with the victim and forensic processing of social media accounts and electronic devices, the investigator obtained warrants for Delaney’s arrest on Tuesday. HCSO Warrant Service Unit deputies took custody of Delaney Wednesday and transported him to the Hall County Jail. He is being held without bond.
