Jyot Singh won the Democratic nomination in the primary elections for the Georgia House of Representatives District 97.
Singh earned 59% of the votes and won every precinct in the district in the early vote and on election day. He faced opposition of Jacques Laurent, who earned 40% of the votes.
“I am deeply honored to have earned the trust of my community to represent them on the ballot this November and fight for them. This victory brings us closer to real results for working families, and the fight for a more affordable and equitable Georgia continues” Jyot Singh, Democratic nominee for Georgia State House District 97, said. “I’m incredibly grateful for everyone that contributed their time, energy, and resources towards our people-powered campaign.”
Singh will run against Republican candidate Yassin Moghazi in the general election on Novemer 3, 2026.
