I’ll take one more half exactly like that, please.
The Bulldogs rolled the dice on special teams, created a turnover, and most importantly cashed in for touchdowns when they did in that first half. The result is a 14 point lead that is worth absolutely nothing if they can’t hold it.
The stat of the first half may be that the high-powered Crimson Tide offense was held to only 70 yards and trailed 19:59 to 10:01 in time of possession. Georgia slowed down Ty Simpson by keeping him off the field. Simpson is 5 of 12 passing for 53 yards and has been hit a lot, with Georgia coming after him with a blitz on about half of his drop backs. That’s the recipe to finish this one out with a win.
The Tide will get the ball to start the third quarter. If Georgia gets a stop there and can score on a long possession to eat up the third quarter, that would be mighty fine.
Go ‘‘Dawgs!!!
