Mrs. Leola Scoggins McGee, age 81 of Martin, Georgia passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. McGee was born on February 25, 1945, in Stephens County, Georgia to the late Tom and Johnnie Sue Cole Scoggins, where she had lived all her life. She was retired from Vermont American (Bosch Tools) with a number of years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and loved going to flea markets.
Mrs. McGee is survived by her husband, Robert “Tony” McGee of Martin, Georgia; sons and daughter-in-law, Scott Brown (Cinda) of Toccoa and Jason McGee (Sowwana) of Easley, South Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Tara McNeilly (Andrew), of Melrose, Massachusetts; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Sue Thomas (Joe) of Cleveland, Georgia, Dianne Taylor (Terry) of Eastanollee, Georgia and Marie Wood (Darrell) of Toccoa, Georgia; grandchildren, Chris Brown (Bri), Alexandria Moseley, Madeine McNeilly, Drew McNeilly, Norah McNeilly, Janice Payne, Jacob McGee and Jayna McGee; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend John Creason officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Kip Hewell, Rob Taylor, Jason McGee, Jacob McGee, Rodney Andrews and Darrell Wood.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davish.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Leola Scoggins McGee.
