Larry Dodd, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026.
Born on July 21, 1942, Larry lived a life marked by faith, hard work, service, and love for his family. He spent more than 40 dedicated years as a store manager with Sherwin-Williams, where he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of those who worked alongside him.
Larry was a faithful member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Toccoa. He was deeply involved in the preschool department and faithfully served his church in many capacities over the years. He was also entrusted to coordinate numerous church building projects, using both his leadership and hands-on skills to help improve and care for his church home.
Larry enjoyed life’s adventures, especially traveling with his beloved wife, Jenora. Together, they shared a bucket-list dream of visiting every state. He also loved golfing, woodworking, and taking on projects around the house. If something needed fixing or building, Larry was always ready to get to work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Emory Dodd and Clyde Mason Dodd; sisters, Cora Lee Dodd Bray (Lewis) and Ruby Dodd Garrison (Joe); and brothers, Charles Marion Dodd and John Daniel Dodd; and brother-in-law, John David Adams.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Georgia Jenora Beck Dodd; daughters, Lisa Dodd Harris (David) and Jennifer Dodd Blasingame (Woody); son, Paul Emory Dodd (Tanya); grandchildren, Rachel Harris Anderson (Daniel), Ashley Harris Metz (London), Kate Blasingame (Nathan), Bo Blasingame, and Lola Dodd; sister, Doris Dodd Adams; and brother, Robert “Bobby” Dodd (Martha); sister-in-law, Suzanne Dodd; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Sara Jo Tucker; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Toccoa with Reverend David Ritcey and Reverend Brett Sanders officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Alvis Tucker, Blakely King, Bo Blasingame, Daniel Anderson, David Harris, London Metz, Nathan Wright, and Woody Blasingame
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Acree-Davis Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Toccoa, Growing Forward Fund (Building Fund), 475 E. Tugalo Street, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Larry Dodd.
Interment will follow in the Roselane Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Larry Dodd.
Larry will be remembered for his servant’s heart, steady presence, strong work ethic, and the love he showed to his family, church, and community.
