The Supreme Court of Georgia issued a ruling today, upholding the conviction of a man in a 2023 Hall County murder case.

Christopher Dean Snow was found guilty in 2024 on charges of felony murder, malice murder and aggravated assault in the April 2023 stabbing death of Casey Allen, age 32, at an apartment in Gainesville. The two were married with a child who had been born just months before the stabbing.

Snow was appealing his conviction, arguing that the trial court had admitted evidence that should have been suppressed due to the residual hearsay exception and that the court had abused its discretion in admitting his 2017 conviction on traffic charges.

The Supreme Court of Georgia upheld the trial court’s ruling, denying Snow’s claim. Snow has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

All Justices on the court agreed with the decision, with the exception of Presiding Justice Sarah Hawkins Warren, who did not participate.
