It’s no secret that when it comes to raising money for a political campaign, an incumbent almost always outraises any opponents. And that’s true of the 9th District congressional race involving incumbent Andrew Clyde, former Gainesville Mayor Sam Couvillon, and Hall County Commissioner Greg Poole.

The AJC reports that an examination of campaign financial disclosure statements shows Clyde raised $104,592 during the last quarter and at the time had $337,733 on hand.

Couvillon reported collecting $76,760 and his war chest totaled $220,096.

Poole, meanwhile, reported raising $7,924 during the latest reporting period.

The three will face off in the Republican Primary May 19.

In the 7th congressional district, which also includes a portion of Hall County, incumbent Rich McCormick who has no primary opposition but will have a General Election opponent in November, reports $836,028 in his campaign kitty.
