Barrow County authorities may be wondering if a “Turtle Crossing” sign needs to be implemented.
A Facebook post from a Winterville resident showcased an act of kindness by a bus driver assisting a turtle across the roadway.
The turtle brought traffic to a standstill, and that’s when the Barrow County School System (BCSS) bus driver helped get the turtle to the other side.
Two other stopped drivers assisted, with one putting up a “thumbs-up” once it had fully crossed the roadway.
The post from Sandice Thrasher said: “It felt like a little wink from the universe. A reminder that even when everything feels stacked up all at once and overwhelming, there are still good people everywhere quietly doing the right thing – even for a turtle crossing the road in the middle of nowhere.”
The situation was resolved in only a few minutes.
