*Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is extending its pause to flights to the Middle East from Atlanta. This comes as tensions in the region continue to affect travel. Through December 18th, all flights between Atlanta and Tel Aviv are not happening. Delta says affected customers will be notified of cancellations through the Fly Delta app.
*Augusta leaders are looking at how to regulate data centers. WJBF TV says city planners are pushing for a moratorium to give them time to set regulations for new applications. The Public Services Committee decided this week to defer approval of a moratorium so the full commission can make the decision.
*Excessive rain is causing E. coli levels in the Chattahoochee River to spike. Atlanta News First reports that the most recent reading shows about 1,700 colony-forming units per 100 milliliters of water, which is a lot compared to the healthy range, which is below 235 colony-forming units per 100 milliliters of water.
*The Atlanta Police Department is preparing for the much-anticipated FIFA World Cup. APD said this week they plan to spend $24 million in overtime for officers working the event. Atlanta Fire Rescue is planning to spend $18 million on overtime for its employees.
