CORNELIA — Casa Bariachi Mexican Grill is nearing its grand reopening, offering the community a first look at a completely refreshed interior after being closed for nearly six months.

Now Georgia was given early exclusive access inside the restaurant, documenting a newly renovated dining space that customers will soon get to experience for themselves.

The closure followed a kitchen fire, but what initially appeared to be a smaller repair quickly turned into a full-scale renovation.

The project has taken longer than initially expected after damage was found beyond the area directly impacted by the fire

Smoke damage extended beyond the immediate fire area, affecting walls, furniture, and other parts of the building. That led to more extensive repairs, along with required inspections and updated code work that added time to the process.

Now, the result is more than just a repair, it’s a full refresh.

The updated interior brings a new look and feel to the restaurant, paired with new menu items and a renewed focus on creating an experience for guests. Owners say the reopening will carry a celebratory atmosphere, with plans for family-friendly activities, drink specials, and live entertainment.

The anticipation from the community is already clear. While Now Georgia was on site, multiple people stopped by hoping to dine in and calling to place to-go orders, highlighting the excitement surrounding the restaurant’s return.

While an official reopening date has not yet been announced, owners say they are in the final stretch.

For updates on the official reopening date, follow Casa Bariachi Mexican Grill’s new Facebook page and stay with Now Georgia as we continue tracking their return.
