Ceasefire deal ends more than 700 days of captivity for those taken during attacks of 7 October 2023
After more than 700 days in captivity, the remaining 20 hostages still alive in Gaza have been released, after the Israeli government’s ratification of a ceasefire deal with Hamas.
They were among the 251 people kidnapped during the 7 October attacks on southern Israel, in which Hamas-led militants killed about 1,200 people.
