Piedmont University invites the community to “Seasons of the Soul,” a free concert of choral music performed by Appassionato Choir, on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 P.M. at the Piedmont University Chapel.
University officials stated that the Appassionato Choir is a nonprofit vocal ensemble dedicated to musical excellence and making a positive impact in the community. Comprising singers from across Georgia, the choir performs benefit concerts to raise funds for underfunded music education programs.
The concert will be directed by Piedmont University Alumnus, Alexander Thomlinson.
The program will feature choral masterpieces by renowned composers such as Thomas Tallis, Eric Whitacre, Moses Hogan, Bob Chilcott and others.
The Appassionato Choir will be joined by the Piedmont University Singers, led by conductor Bobby Ivey, along with Piedmont University Artist in Residence and organist Louise Bass, for a performance of Herbert Howells’ A Hymn for St. Cecilia.
