The principal of Sugar Hill Elementary School in Hall County will retire at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
The Hall County School District announced Friday that Jennifer Deaton will retire after 30 years with the school system.
“Jennifer Deaton’s 30 years of service to the Hall County School District represent a legacy of unwavering dedication, compassion, and excellence,” Superintendent Will Schofield said in a release. “With a servant’s heart and exceptional strength as an instructional leader, Jennifer has positively impacted the lives of countless students and families. We are grateful for her commitment to making a difference in the lives of those she has served and wish her the very best in the next chapter of her journey.”
Throughout her career in education, Deaton has served in several roles, including as a teacher, counselor and assistant principal.
“Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible potential of our students and the unwavering commitment of our staff, “ Deaton said. “Together, we have built a school that fosters creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together here at Sugar Hill. I am truly grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement I’ve received from the district throughout my career. May the school district continue to thrive and inspire future generations.”
No information on who will fill Deaton’s role has been released.
