A Wind Advisory remains in effect for the mountains until 1PM Saturday for the mountains with wind gusts of 30-35 m.p.h. likely for most and up to 50 m.p.h. at the higher elevations. These winds will gradually decrease through the day under full sunshine. Highs will reach only into the mid-40s which is cool but about 20º warmer than the same time last week.
Starting on Sunday we’ll see a big-time warm up that will take us back to near spring-like temperatures. Highs on Sunday will climb back into the 50s, but by Monday many locations will return to the low-60s for the first time since early January. By Tuesday clouds will be on the increase as moisture rushes in from the south, but right now it appears any shower activity would be limited on Tuesday and Wednesday with more widespread rain holding off until later in the week.
Temperatures on Tue/Wed will be quite toasty, however, with mid-60s across a bulk of the area. Some spots closer to Athens/Elberton could hit 70º, a real big swing from where we’ve been.
