CLEVELAND — The White County Board of Commissioners on Monday approved a contract for the 2026 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG), which will fund work on several county roads this spring and summer.
White County Public Works Director Steve Worley told commissioners the LMIG grant totals $552,397.27. The county will use SPLOST funds to cover the remaining cost of the $1,029,417.30 project.
Pittman Construction submitted the lowest bid. Commission Chairman Travis Turner said the following roads are included in the project: Albert Reid Road, Henry Nix Road, Kinsey Town Road, Underwood Farm Road, Loudsville Church Road and Old Highway 75 South.
Worley said it will take several weeks to finalize preparations before work begins.

- Albert Reid Road (CR 084): Level, overlay and striping from John Head Road to Asbestos Road
- Henry Nix Road (CR 056): Binder, overlay and striping from SR 115 to Chimney Lake Drive
- Kinsey Town Road (CR 062): Level, overlay and striping from SR 115 to SR 384
- Underwood Farm Road (CR 191): Patch, level, overlay and striping from SR 129 to Old Highway 75 South
- Loudsville Church Road (CR 085): Binder, overlay and striping from Highway 75 Alternate to Albert Reid Road
- Old Highway 75 South (CR 251): Striping from SR 129 to SR 254
