A new trailer for Michael Jackson’s biopic is finally moonwalking our way.

The latest trailer for the Antoine Fuqua-directed biopic also features moments with Colman Domingo as Michael’s father and manager Joe, Nia Long as Michael’s mother Katherine, Kat Graham as fellow Motown star Diana Ross, Miles Teller as lawyer and manager John Branca and more.

In the new glimpse of the film, Jaafar, 29, can be seen recreating his late uncle’s legendary vocals and moves “that led him to become the biggest entertainer in the world,” as the movie’s synopsis states.

Michael died in 2009 at age 50. Among the controversies he faced in life was an accusation of sexual abuse in 1993 of 13-year-old Jordan Chandler. Michael and the Chandler family reached a settlement out of court, reportedly for $25 million.

Puck reported in January 2025 that the settlement specified that the Chandlers could never be mentioned or dramatized in a movie, meaning Michael needed to be overhauled during reshoots. The biopic was subsequently delayed from its original 2025 release date.

Photos of Jaafar from the movie’s set first circulated in February 2024. “We have assembled an incredible team of artists for this project — hair and makeup, costumes, cinematography, choreography, lighting, everything — and some who knew and worked with Michael are reuniting for this film,” Fuqua, 60, said in a statement at the time.

“But most importantly, it’s Jaafar who embodies Michael. It goes beyond the physical resemblance. It’s Michael’s spirit that comes through in a magical way.”

Michael is in theaters April 24.
