The National Weather Service (NWS) is not optimistic at all about any chances for Gainesville getting any rain this week. In fact, that’s true of the entire state, though the percentages vary.
“The drying effects of a persistent high-pressure system over the Southeast will create very low rain chances this week,” Monday’s advisory says, leading to another warning against outdoor burning.
Here are the chances for rain for some north Georgia cities: 14% Rome, 19% Dalton, 7% Dahlonega,
5% Gainesville, 8% Clayton, and 4%Newnan. But – rain chances will slightly increase next weekend.
