UPDATE – 10:00 P.M.:

A part of I-985 reopened Wednesday evening after being closed earlier following a six-vehicle pileup. The state patrol is investigating the accident which occurred about dusk.

It happened in the southbound lanes near Mile Marker 12 (Spout Springs Road), according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office which had deputies on the scene to help with traffic control. One lane was closed while the initial investigation was conducted and the road cleared.

There was no other information immediately available, and none is likely until Thursday.
