Tuesday ‘Dawg Bites Is Gonna Keep It All Outta Sight

Welcome to Tuesday, Bulldog fans! More importantly, welcome to Tuesday of Hate Week. Where we focus our collective ire on all things War, and Plains, and Tigers, and Eagles, and Nick Fairly, and Cam Newton, and Pat Dye. It is no secret the East Alabama School for the Five Finger Discount certainly draws a lot of abhorrence from Georgia fans. We don’t care for Auburn. But going to Jordan-Hare, at night, the Bulldogs need to eliminate distractions and keep things close to the vest. With the darkness upon us, all these dream things we should keep inside, keep it all outta sight, and go undercover of the night. Ladies & Gentlemen… The Rolling Stones!

Before we give all our hate to Auburn, and recall how much we like driving in our trucks, let’s take one last peek at the Kentucky game. In this writer’s opinion, all of the important goals were achieved in a sleepy timeslot against a sleepy opponent and coming off a disappointing loss. The staff at the Red & Black were a little more generous with the weekly position grades than last week’s bloodbath, perhaps also bouncing back from the pit of despair after Bama.

IF Georgia takes care of business this weekend, and IF Lane Kiffin’s kids don’t hard launch their relationship with Washington St. Cougars, then next Saturday in Athens will be quite the attraction to the world of college football. Ole Miss is #4 in the AP Poll, while the Bulldogs climbed back up to #10. If you have two top 10 SEC teams squaring up on an October Saturday but you don’t have Verne Lundquist or even Gary Danielson, what do you do? I guess you don’t put it in primetime. You instead broadcast it to the world at 3:30 on ABC. Will we get Chris & Kirk, Sean & Greg, or Joe Tess?

The weekly pregame press conference came and went as scheduled Monday. There wasn’t too much on injury updates, as Monroe Feeling has a bad ankle and Earnest Greene continues to heal up. But you knew that. We also found out that Kirby Smart has a lot of respect for Auburn Head Coach Hugh Freeze. He said that out loud, so you can 100% believe that is what is in his heart. Coach Smart also regards Tiger QB Jackson Arnold highly as a weapon, no matter what PFF might tell you. And that Auburn has skill on the outside both defensively and offensively.

The Bowl Cut from Bainbridge also emphasized how tough it is to play at Jordan-Hare at night. It appears the Auburn administration doesn’t value that advantage as much, as they’ve moved one of their 2026 home games to another locale.

Do you yearn for more sacks? Do you blame Georgia’s defense or the coaches for not achieving more in this stat column? Kirby doesn’t. That doesn’t mean there isn’t an opportunity.

No big news is certainly good news, at least if you’ve been around here long enough. Just embrace the fact that Auburn sucks, and all else will be okay. Be kind to one another, look out for one another, bark at Auburn fans, and as always…

GO ‘DAWGS!!!
