Tuesday ‘Dawg Bites Is All Right Now. In Fact…

Welcome to Tuesday, Bulldog fans! If you made it through the first half of the Auburn game, you probably made it through Sunday and Monday as well. I recommend partaking in Auburn tears; they aid in the digestion and are a salve for the soul. A bonus is that those nourishing nectar droplets help you reconcile things like questionable officiating that went your way. Yet that first half, the Alabama first half, the Tennessee first half, just watching Bulldog football in general is tough on a body. Things can turn around for the better. And it’s all right now. In fact, it’s a gas. Ladies & Gentlemen… The Rolling Stones!

One Two!

Now onto news & notes of the Georgia Bulldog variety:

The Big Dawg spoke again Monday at his weekly press Q&A. He certainly spoke about Ole Miss, and he certainly did not speak more about phantom timeout calls. Don’t worry, he too laments the slow starts and lack of explosiveness. Kirby seemed to hint that this UGA team has been more explosive against good teams who play our offensive more aggressively, thus getting exploited. If there’s an aggressive coach out there, it’s Lane Kiffin looking to make a statement. Maybe this is a good sign?

If you had told me after the Tennessee and Alabama games that Georgia would have a SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week award this season, I would have accused you of huffing cat urine. Especially after a performance where Georgia barely entered the red area, had less than 80 yards rushing, and less than 300 yards total. But it’s where we are. Good for you, Monroe.

Kirby Smart has moved on from Auburn, the team is certainly moving on from the Hugh Freeze offense, and the furor over SEC officiating seems to be moving on as well. That doesn’t mean we can’t take one last look back, and thanks to the intrepid reporters at the Red & Black, review Georgia’s position group performances at Cam Newton’s Homecoming.

Chauncey Bowens apparently had a bit of a calf injury Saturday, but looks to be back healthy this week. That could be the case for Juan Gaston. Seeing Earnest Greene dress out last week was a great sign, and obviously both Micah Morris and Monroe Freeling are getting back healthy as attested by their play at Jordan-Hare. All things considered, this is a pretty good injury report.

ESPN College GameDay is coming back to Athens. Color me melancholy. I’ve never attended one of these, other than skirting the shindigs about 20 years ago. It seemed like too many people in too small a space trying to get on TV. And having to look at Desmond Howard as a professional football analyst. I know we’re the highest ranked matchup, but what about Bama/Tennessee, USC/Notre Dame, or BYU/Utah? Those are all ranked on ranked games as well.

That should get your Ole Miss Week Tuesday started. Being a Georgia Bulldog any day of the week is pretty good. Some would say it’s a gas, no matter what has happened before. If you hear anyting noteworthy, drop it in the comments. And always…

GO ‘DAWGS!!!
