In Clayton County, all northbound lanes of Interstate 75 were blocked at Jonesboro Road as of 5 a.m. after reports that a vehicle may have struck an overpass, resulting in a large hole. The Mt. Zion ramp is also closed. The incident has created significant delays and drivers are advised to take I-675 as an alternate route.
It appears the incident was initially reported around 2:30 a.m.
Meanwhile, on I-85 northbound through Coweta County, two left lanes were closed near Collinsworth Road due to another crash. Traffic in that area also backed up as crews worked to clear the scene.
Motorists were urged to expect heavy delays in both areas during the morning rush.
