Week 12 is here! We have four teams on bye, including stud De’Von Achane, so it might not be smooth sailing, but you can do it! Below are the Week 12 PPR running back rankings for your viewing pleasure.
Week 12 byes
Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, Miami Dolphins
Running backs on bye
RJ Harvey, Kimani Vidal, Chris Rodriquez, De’Von Achane
RB streamer of the week
Kenneth Gainwell, Steelers at Bears
Gainwell has played well behind Jaylen Warren this year and with him out for much of the game against the Bengals last week, he rushed nine times for 24 yards and caught 7-of-8 targets for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Warren sounded optimistic after the game about his health, but players usually are. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Warren get a rest this week, giving Gainwell a strong start against a weak defense.
RB injuries
Josh Jacobs, Packers
Jacobs is dealing with a knee contusion that forced him from their Week 11 game against the Giants. It looks like he avoided structural damage, but there is a chance he misses this week against the Vikings. If he can’t go, Emanuel Wilson would get the lead role.
Jaylen Warren, Steelers
Warren was forced from their Week 11 game due to an ankle injury. After the game Warren told reporters he could have returned. His backup Kenny Gainwell would be a strong start against the Bears this week if Warren can’t go.
Bhayshul Tuten, Jaguars
Tuten rolled his ankle in the Jaguars thumping of the Chargers in Week 11 and wasn’t able to return. He had split work with Travis Etienne and played well, rushing for 75 yards and a touchdown. We’ll need to learn more, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him miss this week against the Cardinals.
Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots
Stevenson has missed the last three games with a toe injury and his availability for this week remains up in the air. TreVeyeon Henderson appears to have won a lot more touches, as he’s been absolutely going off while Stevenson has been out. Even if he returns this week, I’d expect him to lose touches to Henderson moving forward.
Trey Benson, Cardinals
Benson was injured in Week 4 and underwent arthroscopic surgery on his meniscus. His return time table was set at 4-6 weeks, but it looks like we’re going to miss that. Without Benson, the team hasn’t really settled on a lead back, so multiple backs have been getting work.
Omarion Hampton, Chargers
Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh said he doesn’t expect Omarion Hampton to return until after the Week 12 bye. We’ll see if that comes true.
Bucky Irving, Buccaneers
Irving missed the last six games with a shoulder and ankle injury, but has returned to practice and has a chance to play this week. Sean Tucker is coming off a big game, while Rachaad White played well in Irving’s absence at times. I assume Irving will assert himself as the No. 1 back again, but there could be a transition period.
Isaiah Pacheco, Chiefs
Pacheco injured his knee late in their Week 8 MNF game against the Commanders. He suffered an MCL sprain, which shelved him for the last three weeks. We’ll see if he can return this week.
