We’ve made it to Week 8 of the NFL season. You didn’t think we could do it, did you? Shows you! Time continues to tick and though we try to slow it down, we still have to watch our fantasy teams lose players to injury almost on a weekly basis! This week hopefully some of them will get better during the bye, but mostly we’re just losing more players while they go nap on their couch.
Week 8 byes
Cardinals, Jaguars, Lions, Rams, Raiders, Seahawks
Tight ends on bye
Trey McBride, Brenton Strange, Sam LaPorta, Tyler Higbee, Brock Bowers, Michael Mayer, AJ Barner
TE injuries
Dalton Kincaid, Bills
Kincaid was able to practice ahead of Week 6, but was ultimately ruled out with his oblique injury. The Bills Week 7 bye likely has him ready to go this week against the Panthers.
Darren Waller, Dolphins
The Dolphins can’t catch a break, as they lost Waller to a pectoral injury that likely will keep him out a few games at least. Tanner Conner appears to be next in line, but shouldn’t be on your list of pickups unless you’re in a deep 2TE league.
Brock Bowers, Raiders
Bowers’ knee injury finally got the better of him and he had to sit out the last three weeks. At this point I’d expect the team to make sure he is at least close to 100% before bringing him back, as Bowers has not looked like his old self since he suffered the injury. Hopefully he’ll be back to his old self after the bye.
David Njoku, Browns
Njoku injured his knee in Week 6 against the Steelers. He did try to play through it, but ultimately couldn’t stay in the game. He was unable to play last week after not practicing, so we’ll see if he can get back on the practice field ahead of their Week 8 tilt with the hot Patriots.
