CLARKESVILLE, Ga. — In a major shakeup for one of the county’s leading business organizations, three members of the Habersham Chamber of Commerce staff resigned from their positions Thursday.
President Ellie Van Doornum, Marketing and Programs Director Alex Michelle, and Administrative Coordinator Anne Minium each stepped down from their roles effective immediately.
The resignations mark a significant transition for the Chamber, which actively promotes local businesses, tourism, and economic development across Habersham County. The three departing leaders have been instrumental in organizing business networking events, community outreach programs, and partnerships aimed at supporting local entrepreneurs.
As of Thursday afternoon, the Chamber’s board of directors had not released a public statement regarding the resignations or plans for interim leadership. It remains unclear whether the departures were coordinated and if replacements have been identified.
Now Habersham has reached out to Chamber officials for comment and will update this story as more information becomes available.
