The BLITZ Girls Basketball Players of the Week are Ava Thompson (Towns) and Ella Kate Shedd (White). Thompson won the Fan Vote with 6,039 of the 11,396 total votes. Shedd was the BLITZ Pick.
AVA THOMPSON – TOWNS COUNTY
Ava Thompson had an incredible week for the young Lady Indians of Towns County. The sophomore guard averaged 19 points to go with 6.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game in two contests. This is her first POW award. Against Warren, she had 22 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists for a near triple-double. She had 16 points with five boards against Hayesville.
ELLA KATE SHEDD – WHITE COUNTY
Ella Kate Shedd’s fantastic season continues for the top-10 ranked White County Lady Warriors. The junior guard/forward had a very solid stat line in two games played last week: 16.0 PTS, 7.0 REB, 5.0 STL, 2.0 AST. She does it all, and now has two POW awards this season and three for her career.
