A suspect in a pair of Hall County thefts last summer has been returned to the county to face charges. He’s the same White County man who was involved in an officer-involved shooting that occurred last June involving a Habersham County sheriff’s deputy. EARLIER STORY. POSTED JUNE 12: UPDATE: Search for Habersham fugitive ends with his capture

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies picked up Jonathan William Harris, 34, of Sautee-Nacoochee, at the Habersham County Jail and brought him to the Hall County Jail on Jan. 2… on HCSO warrants for theft by receiving stolen property and entering an auto to commit a theft.

The warrants are related to two incidents that occurred on June 11, 2025. In one incident, Harris is accused of stealing a vehicle and a utility trailer from a location in northwestern Hall County. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office charged Harris for the vehicle theft, but did not charge him with the theft of the trailer when he was arrested in that jurisdiction. Harris was captured on video surveillance in possession of the stolen trailer in the area of Athens Street and West Ridge Road.

In addition, Harris is accused of entering a vehicle in the Athens Street/West Ridge Road area and stealing a .32 caliber revolver from inside the vehicle. Harris was found in possession of the stolen gun when he was arrested in Habersham County.

Harris posted a bond of $11,700 on the Hall County charges and was released from custody (today)…”
