*A 24-year-old man was arrested Friday on Enota Circle in Gainesville, charged with theft by taking, greater than $1,500.

*A 48-year-old is being held without bond following his arrest, also on Friday, on Fern Drive on charges of selling methamphetamine.

*The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Daily Bulletin for Saturday also shows that a 52-year-old man was arrested about 3:00 Friday morning at Laurel Park. He’s facing six charges as a result – four for drug possession, one for public drunkenness, and one for littering on public or private property.

Among the cases opened by Gainesville Police this week:

*A residential burglary on Green Street near Washington. 54-year-old woman reports it happened between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. Thursday.

*Gainesville law firm reports “fraudulent activity” of an undisclosed kind that cost it almost $7,000. Also Thursday. Between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

*Two shoplifting arrests: Ericah Shamese Gilliam, 31, and Shade Lila Gladys Emanuel, 39, charged with taking items valued at “$500 or more” from westside business. “Duo allegedly took misc household items from Walmart, arrested without incident,” a police spokesman wrote in an email.

*Rape reported. Happened between 3:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. No other information available at this time such as place it’s reported to have occurred or anything about the age of the victim, etc.

*Sexual battery. Reportedly occurred between 3:00 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. April 4. Reported to Gainesville Police April 6 but, according to a police spokesman “This case was turned over to Jackson County as it is believed to have occurred in their jurisdiction, involves inappropriate behavior from an uber driver.”

Additional details on most of these are not likely to be available until local law enforcement administrative offices reopen Monday after the weekend.
