Our pond-jumping days are numbered, fellow The Way Home fans.

PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that season 4 of the hit Hallmark Channel drama starring Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, Sadie Laflamme-Snow and Evan Williams will return in Spring 2026 (not January, as it had in years past) — and it will be the show’s final season.

“Fans of The Way Home have enthusiastically watched and rewatched every episode since the first pond jump of season 1 as they’ve tried to piece together the brilliant puzzle Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke and Marly Reed expertly crafted,” Samantha DiPippo, SVP of programming at Hallmark Media tells PEOPLE. “We’re grateful to our talented cast led by Andie, Chyler, Evan and Sadie, as well as our amazing writers and crew who have worked so hard on this show.”

Production on the time-travel series will wrap later this month, so look out for tearful posts on social media from the Landry ladies as they prepare to leave Port Haven for good.

Still, there’s plenty to look forward to. For starters, Laflamme-Snow teased a return to filming in August alongside the friends Alice made during her visits to the 1970s, played by Julia Tomasone, Jordan Doww, and Devin Cecchetto.

And Doww shared a tearful TikTok earlier this month after the final table-read. “I’m an emotional wreck,” he wrote in the caption. “This show … this family … what a masterpiece.”

According to DiPippo, “Season 4 will feature the thrilling twists and turns fans expect and, as the Landry family’s journey comes to a satisfying close, viewers will get the answers they’ve waited for.”

In the emotional season 3 finale, Del (MacDowell) time-traveled for the first time and witnessed her wedding to Colton (Doww) in the 1970s, Kat (Leigh) and Elliot (Williams) chose each other and committed further to their relationship, K.C. (Vaughan Murrae) revealed that Susanna (Watson Rose) left Lingermore to the Landrys in her will, Jacob (Spencer Macpherson) disappeared again, and Alice (Laflamme-Snow) and adult Colton (Jefferson Brown) had heart-to-heart that makes this writer want to cry just thinking about it.

And then, of course, there was a massive cliffhanger that saw a mysterious couple jumping into the pond in the 1970s and Sam (Rob Stewart) mirroring Elliot from the show’s pilot in the present day.

“The best part about this show is that nothing is straightforward,” Clarke told PEOPLE when grilled about it in March. “Everything is an answer that begets a question.”

Added Conkie: “It’s similar in a way to the end of our previous season with Colton watching the fireworks.”

Later, Clarke teased, “I hope people recognize that we went to the trouble of posing Sam exactly as Elliot posed at the pond at the end of our pilot episode. And he says the exact same words. At the end of our very first episode, it was Kat on the phone with Elliot saying, ‘I don’t know where Alice is. What if she doesn’t come home?’ And Elliot saying, ‘Don’t worry, she will.”‘And she says, ‘Well, how do you know that Elliot? How do you know that?’ And he says, ‘I just do.’ And then we reveal him at the pond. We were very determined to have history repeat itself. … The past is never gone.”

The Way Home seasons 1-3 are currently streaming on Hallmark+, and seasons 1 and 2 are available on Netflix.
