Through each full week of sports in the school year, we’ll recognize the Teams of the Week, brought to you by Cofield Outdoors!

    Football – Dawson County Tigers

The Tigers clawed out a victory at Lumpkin County in a rivalry matchup. Dawson held a slim 17-14 halftime lead, but shut it down the second half. New starting QB Brody Sorensen and RB Cody McBrayer supplied the bulk of the offense in a shocking 31-17 win.

Softball – Banks County Lady Leopards

Banks County completed its goal of making it to Columbus. Last week, the #2-ranked Lady Leopards beat ACE Charter 1-0 and 12-4 to clinch the Elite 8. They had previously beaten Chattooga 5-0 and 18-0 in the first round. Banks County is the final team standing among our local programs.

Volleyball – Franklin County Lady Lions

Franklin County earns Team of the Week honors a second consecutive week. The Lady Lions this time beat Sonoraville by a 3-1 final to reach their first-ever Final 4. Their playoff run includes wins over East Jackson, Pierce County, and Sonoraville.

Girls XC – White County Lady Warriors & Tallulah Falls Lady Indians

White County placed 1st out of 18 teams at the Fast Break Challenge at Heritage. Carly Black (2nd), Julie Black (3rd), and Emma Windham (6th) earned top-10 finishes.
