Hiking Trails near Helen
Hiking in North Georgia is one of the major reasons people come to see our beautiful part of the country.
Mount Yonah is a 2.8 mile loop trail located near Cleveland, Georgia that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, road biking, & climbing access and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Appalachian Trail: Unicoi Gap to Dicks Creek Gap is a 16.1 mile point-to-point trail located near Helen, Georgia that offers the chance to see wildlife and is only recommended for very experienced outdoorsmen. The trail is primarily used for hiking & trail running and is accessible year-round.
Raven Cliff Falls Trail is a 4.8 mile out and back trail located near Helen, Georgia that features a waterfall. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for camping, fishing, hiking & walking. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Andrews Cove Trail – Energetic hike up the Andrews Creek watershed to the Appalachian Trail
Anna Ruby Falls Trail – The rare double falls on Curtis and York Creek are especially awesome after a shower.
AT Hogpen Gap to Unicoi Gap – Takes hikers from Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway to Georgia 75.
Dukes Creek Falls Trail – On the Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway, the trail follows a series of switchbacks tobeautiful Dukes Creek Falls

Helton Creek Falls – Brief hike through a cool mountain cove to two waterfalls, both of which are on Helton Creek. An observation deck has recently been added in the area of the second falls.
Horse Trough Falls Trail – This brief leg-stretch is marked by the first bridge across the Chattahoochee River
Smith Creek Trail – The trail runs near the ridge top of Smith Mountain and follows, but does not come near, Smith Creek.
