Stephens County secures Aa2 Bond Rating

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners announces that Moody’s Ratings has assigned a Aa2 issuer rating to Stephens County, says Stephens County Administrator Christian Hamilton.


The Aa2 rating is generally determined to detail a county with “high quality and very low credit risk,” as detailed by the latest December 9, 2025, edition of Moody’s Rating Symbols and Definitions. The rating scorecard Moody’s utilized took into account eight different factors, six of which each received a Aaa category, the highest rating offered by Moody’s for a county.
