Starbucks Has Free Coffee in Special-Edition Paper Cups the Day After the Super Bowl

No matter what team you are rooting for, Starbucks has a treat for everyone the Monday after the Super Bowl.

The coffeehouse chain announced on Thursday, Feb. 5, that locations nationwide will be handing out free iced or hot coffee on Monday, Feb. 9, so “everyone wins the day after the Big Game,” per a press release.

The tall-sized coffee freebie is for rewards members who purchase any drink that day. The free coffee coupon should pop up automatically in the Starbucks app with an in-app drink purchase that day.

There is a limit of one free coffee per member.

The free drink comes in a special package to brighten up the day even more. Starting Monday and through the end of February, tall, grade and venti-sized hot drinks will come in a limited-edition paper cup. The cup has the brand’s original logo and is in the iconic green color of baristas’ aprons.

On Feb. 3, Starbucks released four new iced sips for customers: Iced Banana Bread Matcha, Iced Double Berry Matcha, White Chocolate Strawberry Cream Cold Brew and Strawberry Shortcake Frappuccino. 

The Iced Banana Bread Matcha and Iced Double Berry Matcha are both permanent additions to the menu lineup. The former adds brown sugar syrup and milk to the matcha before adding a Banana Cream Cold Foam and a sprinkle of caramel crunch. The latter combines the milky matcha with layers of strawberry purée and a Raspberry Cream Cold Foam on top.

The other newbies, the White Chocolate Strawberry Cream Cold Brew and Strawberry Shortcake Frappuccino, are limited-time Valentine’s Day beverages.

The White Chocolate Strawberry Cream Cold Brew layers vanilla-sweetened cold brew with a White Chocolate Strawberry Cream Cold Foam to get the berry flavors in. 

The Strawberry Shortcake Frappuccino has swirls of strawberry purée between the cinnamon dolce syrup-flavored blended drink, plus whipped cream and caramel sugar on top.
