The BLITZ Boys Basketball Players of the Week are Brayden Knight (Banks), Bryson Parks (Commerce), and Vince Marevka (Union). Knight won the Fan Vote with 8,662 of the 20,669 total votes. Parks and Marevka were the BLITZ Picks.

BRAYDEN KNIGHT – BANKS COUNTY

Sometimes being the Player of the Week means doing the things that don’t shine as much in the box score. Brayden Knight played great defense for Banks County last week in the Leopards’ game, while scoring three points and adding four rebounds. He earns his first POW award.

BRYSON PARKS – COMMERCE

Get to know Bryson Parks. He’s sometimes overshadowed by his own stellar teammates Maki Mitchell, Ty Sorrells, and Essien Lockleer, but he’s just as crucial to the success of the new #1-ranked team in Georgia. The Commerce Tigers sophomore guard/forward can hit from anywhere on the floor, and averaged 19.5 points and nine rebounds across two games last week. This is his first POW award.

VINCE MAREVKA – UNION COUNTY

Vince Marevka is at it again. The Union County senior forward averaged 24 points and 21 rebounds (read that again and let it soak in), and still had time for three assists and three steals per contest. Marevka had 34 points and 23 rebounds in a historic performance against Rockmart. This is his second POW award. He has the distinct honor of being the 500th basketball player ever to win a BLITZ POW award.
