Gainesville authorities arrested a man after a 41-year-old man was left in critical condition from a stabbing on Monday, Nov 17, at Good News at Noon in Gainesville.

Capt. Kevin Holbrook with the Gainesville Police Department stated that Andrea Valvenus Hunter, 47, was identified as the suspect and subsequently found and arrested in Gwinnett County.

Officers responded to 884 Dorsey Street at around 11 a.m., where they found the victim with stab wounds to the abdomen. He was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, where he remains in critical condition.

“We do not know exactly what led to the altercation. It’s believed that both of these individuals were in a hallway. One individual left, came back, at which point he was stabbed,” Holbrook said.

Hunter was charged with aggravated assault, and he is being held without bond.
