The 2nd round of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) softball playoffs get set to open on Monday in best-of-three series.
No. 1-ranked teams Buford (Class 6A) and Jefferson (3A) will lead 10 northeast Georgia area teams as they all try to advance to the Elite 8 tournament in Columbus next week.
Classes 6A, 5A, 4A, and Class A Division 2 will begin on Monday with Classes 3A, 2A, and Class A D1 beginning on Wednesday.
Buford (6A) and Cherokee Bluff (3A) both finished as state runners-up in 2024. The Lady Bears also are still alive in the 2025 playoffs.
Six of the 10 teams will be at home in the 2nd round.
