The BLITZ Boys Basketball Players of the Week are Huey Blalock (Rabun) and Landon Lee (Dawson). Blalock won the Fan Vote with 626 of the 1,117 total votes. Lee was the BLITZ Pick.
HUEY BLALOCK – RABUN COUNTY
For the fourth time this year, senior Huey Blalock is a BLITZ Player of the Week. That’s also #8 for his incredible career. The senior point guard averaged 25 points, four assists, two rebounds, two steals, and a block per game during the region title run. The Wildcats won 8-A DI back-to-back for the first time, and Blalock (the Region POY) proved he’s more than worthy of the hype.
LADON LEE – DAWSON COUNTY
Landon Lee was sensational all season, but really turned it on during the region tournament. In the 6-AAA semifinals, he led the Dawson County Tigers to a shocking 1-point win over favorites and rivals Lumpkin County. Lee averaged 24 points and 3.3 rebounds across three games, and was good for two assists and 1.5 steals through the region tournament. This is his third career POW award.
