A Royston man was arrested Wednesday on charges of child molestation in Hall County.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Jessie Wayne Shackelford, age 38, was arrested after a traffic stop on Wednesday, Nov. 19. He is accused of molesting a girl under the age of 14 at a home in Flowery Branch between January of 2021 and May of 2022.
“Investigators…became aware of the crimes last month when the victim disclosed the abuse to a friend at church,” the sheriff’s office said. “Arrest warrants were taken on Nov. 17, 2025.”
Shackelford is charged with child molestation, aggravated child molestation and incest. He’s being held in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Thursday afternoon.
Shackelford also previously pleaded guilty in Hall County in 2023 to charges of child molestation, for which he was sentenced to 10 years’ probation.
