Riverside Preparatory Academy and the University of North Georgia agreed on a newly revised memorandum of understanding for preferred admissions.
The agreement was signed this week by Riverside Preparatory President Robert Brittain Daniel, J.D. and Senior Vice President and Superintendent of UNG’s Cadet Leadership Academy Lieutenant General James L. Terry.
The agreement guarantees admission and award $3,500 in leadership scholarships for up to five qualifying Riverside cadets who meet or exceed UNG’s Cadet Admissions criteria.
“This enhanced partnership underscores the value colleges and military institutions place on the discipline, structure, and character development that define a Riverside education,” Riverside Preparatory said in a press release on Tuesday.
Daniel added that Riverside students enter college with the tools higher education demands.
“Riverside graduates stand out because they enter college already equipped with the habits, mindset, and sense of responsibility that higher education demands,” Daniel said. “UNG’s continued recognition of our cadets’ readiness reflects the strength of our program and the quality of young men we are proud to send into the world. We are grateful for this partnership and pleased to offer our students another strong pathway to higher education.”
Similar agreements are already in place between Riverside and Brenau University, The Citadel, Georgia Military College, Norwich University, and Virginia Military Institute.
Interested students are urged to meet with Riverside’s college counselor, while parents with questions can contact the College Counseling Office at collegecounseling@riversideprep.org.
