Gregg Poole will hold his campaign kickoff event Tuesday evening in Gillsville for his 9th District congressional bid.

The Hall County District 3 Commissioner is running in the May, 2026 Republican primary for the 9th District seat, currently held by Republican Andrew Clyde. The event will be freom 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hidden Acres Barn on Old Gillsville Road.

In a release Tuesday morning, Poole’s campaign described him as a “strong Trump conservative,” vowing he would “not cower to the political elite in Washington.”

“He is strong in his convictions and will represent the great people of the ninth district. A defender of life, liberty and the Constitution,” Tuesday’s release said.

Poole will run in the Republican field that features the incumbent, Clyde, as well as Gainesville Mayor Sam Couvillon. Democrat Nick Alex is also seeking the seat, although he will be unopposed in May’s primary.
