Police investigate shooting at Royston Tobacco and Vape

Late Monday night, the City of Franklin Springs Police Department responded to the Royston Tobacco and Vape in reference to an individual with a gunshot wound.

The incident occurred at almost 9 pm at the business in Tri-County Plaza, off GA Highway 29 near the Cook Street intersection.

Shortly after, the Royston Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene. The investigation has been turned over to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

“There is no threat to the public,” the department stated in a social media post.

“We would like to thank the initial officers on scene who provided aid and comfort, and to all the first responders who assisted this evening,” the Franklin Springs Police Department said. “The Franklin Springs Police Department is praying for the person injured this evening, and asks that our community keep the injured person in their thoughts and prayers.”

FCSO reports that the investigation is active and ongoing, and more information will be provided later.
