Commuters through the back routes of White County will encounter delays along Alternate Route 75 near the entrance to the Smithgall Woods Park.
Eyewitness news accounts reported the wreck along the Alternate Route 75 in both directions near Helen, not far from the Smithgall Woods park entrance just before 7:45 a.m. on Monday. A photo from a commuter along Alternate Route 75 showed the box truck was on its side across both lanes of traffic, and not allowing traffic to move between Helen and Cleveland.
Local officials are enroute to try and clear the roadway, while drivers should seek alternate routes during the mid-to-late morning hours Monday. No word from White County officials as of 8:00 a.m. on when the crash scene is expected to be cleared, or if any injuries were reported.
