Well, the National Weather Service NWS) is promising everything from springlike temperatures to heavy rain to bone-chilling cold over the next few days. But, alas, no snow.
“Waves of showers & storms spread into north GA Friday into Saturday ahead of a cold front,” a Friday morning advisory says. “Heavy rainfall totals of 2-3″ are expected with (some) totals over 4″ possible.”
The weather service also warns that “localized” flash flooding could occur, especially along and north of the I-85 corridor. There is also a “low-end” risk for strong, isolated severe thunderstorms late Friday night through Saturday afternoon.
“A Marginal severe risk (1 of 5) exists during this time frame with locally strong wind gusts the main concern along with a low-end brief tornado threat.

Showers likely, mainly after 4pm. Areas of fog before 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 69. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Showers. Low around 60. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 68. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
