NESTOUT Launches New Gear Cases

NESTOUT is a sub-brand of the Japanese electronics company ELECOM, introduced in 2021 as a line of rugged, modular outdoor power products, including weather-resistant power banks, portable solar panels, and compact charging systems. Drawing from ELECOM’s history in consumer electronics, which traces back to Japan’s post-war industrial development, the brand launched initially in Japan before expanding to the U.S. market in mid-2023. It has received some recognition, such as the iF Design Gold Award and a mention in GearJunkie’s 2024 power bank review, and focuses on features like clean energy options and durability for use in various outdoor conditions by hikers, campers, and off-grid users. Recently, NESTOUT has launched a few new gear cases, helping you keep your essential items securely stored on your outdoor adventures. Let’s dive into them in a bit more detail.

NESTOUT GEAR CASES

The NESTOUT Gear Case line includes two variants designed for outdoor storage: a larger 16L model and a smaller 3L model. Both feature a hard shell exterior for protection against impacts, moisture, and dust, with polycarbonate construction, reinforced corners, weather-resistant zippers, and adjustable padded dividers for organization. They support stacking (two Small cases fit on one Large) and are compatible with NESTOUT items like batteries, solar panels, cables, and attachments such as FLASH, FAN, and Air Pump, as well as general tech or camera gear.

16L Variant (Large)

This larger option has a 16L capacity, dimensions of 18.5 × 9.8 × 7.3 inches, and weighs 4.2 pounds. It includes two zippered pockets, two stretch pockets, and one mesh pocket in the interior for separating items like cameras, chargers, and cables. Suitable for extended trips or van storage, it offers more space for bulkier equipment while maintaining portability. I could see myself using this case as the one-stop camping kitchen case to hold everything from my Jetboil to my French press for my coffee kit. Alternatively, this case might make for a great way to transport a small amount of camera gear if there is enough padding and protection for the equipment.

3L Variant (Small)

The smaller 3L version measures 8.7 × 8.7 × 3.9 inches and weighs 1.7 pounds. Its interior has one zippered pocket, one stretch pocket, and one mesh pocket, making it ideal for compact organization of essentials like batteries or small attachments during short hikes or daily use. It provides basic protection in a lighter, more portable form. I think this case would be a perfect size to hold a lot of those smaller gear items you take on your travels that you don’t want getting knocked around. Think about your GPS devices and lighting equipment, and even batteries.

Both of the NESTOUT Gear cases are available now on NESTOUT’s website, and if this looks like something you might take on your next camping or overlanding trip, maybe give them a look.
