As of 6 a.m., traffic across metro Atlanta was heavily impacted following multiple crashes reported during the morning commute, including incidents on both Interstate 285 and Interstate 20.
In west Atlanta, an overturned vehicle on Interstate 285 southbound near Langford Parkway temporarily blocked three right lanes. Drivers used the left lanes to get by, but traffic backed up near the Cascade Road area. The crash cleared shortly after 7 a.m.
On the south side, a separate crash on Interstate 285 westbound at Clark Howell in Clayton County temporarily blocked all lanes. Authorities report a person was involved in the crash, though the extent of injuries has not been confirmed. Traffic delays stretched back to Jonesboro Road. Drivers were advised to use Forest Parkway or Interstate 75 inside the perimeter as alternate routes.
Meanwhile, in Atlanta, a pedestrian-involved crash on Interstate 20 eastbound at the Downtown Connector caused major delays. Two right lanes were blocked, and the exit ramp was closed. The status of the pedestrian is unknown at this time.
A crash on I-75 southbound near Delk Road was reported shortly after 7:15 a.m.
