The bill, introduced in and passed by the state Senate earlier this year as a result of the recent sex scandal at Truett-McConnel College (TMU), has now cleared the House. The law, if the governor signs it, will now include clergy members within its scope, baptistnews.com reports. Currently, the law only applies to certain individuals in power, such as educators or law enforcement officials.

*The Hall County Library System (HCLS) plans a public celebration Monday to mark its being named the 2025 Georgia Public Library of the Year. It will be held at 4:00 at the downtown Gainesville branch. All other branches will live-stream the ceremony and host festivities of their own so residents from those areas can participate at those branches.
