Two people were found shot to death Monday night at the East Perimeter Pointe Apartments in Decatur.
Officers were called to the 2600 block of Treecrest Parkway around 7:45 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, they found an adult man and woman inside an apartment, both deceased from gunshot wounds.
Detectives believe the incident was domestic-related and identified the suspect as 25-year-old Steven Christopher Mathis, born Sept. 29, 2000. Police reported that he was believed to be driving a black Jeep Renegade after the shooting.
According to jail records, Mathis was arrested and booked into the DeKalb County Jail at 2:45 a.m. According to DeKalb, he was arrested by the Henry County Police Department.
Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting or how the suspect knew the victims.
Investigators also have not identified the victims at this time.
Police are urging anyone who knows anything about the crime to get in touch with them.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
