HART COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead inside a burning home on Old 29 Highway late Wednesday night, October 29.
Just before midnight, Hart County deputies responded to a structure fire along with firefighters and EMS. Crews extinguished the blaze, but the residence sustained major damage.
During a search of the home, firefighters discovered a man dead in a back room, according to a news release from the Hart County Fire Department.
The Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Hart County Coroner’s Office, and Hart County Sheriff’s Office investigators are working to determine what caused the fire and what led to the man’s death.
Officials say more information will be released as the investigation continues.
