A man is facing a list of charges after reportedly leading police on a chase in western Gwinnett County.

The Gwinnett County Police Department posted video of the pursuit on social media Wednesday evening, saying officers were searching for a suspected metal thief who had previously fled from police.

“When they located him behind a closed business on Spectrum Drive in Duluth, he rammed two patrol cars in an attempt to flee,” Gwinnett Police said.

The suspect, identified as David Peace, age 58, reportedly continued to flee officers for nearly eight minutes before officers used a PIT maneuver to end the chase.

Peace faces more than 40 total charges, including three counts of aggravated assault on an officer, possession of cocaine, fleeing and hit and run. As of Thursday, Nov. 13, he remained in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.
