A man was arrested in Tennessee after two people were found shot and killed in southern Gwinnett County late Friday night.
The Gwinnett County Police Department said officers were called to the Sterling Glen Apartments off of Indian Trail Lilburn Road near Norcross just after 10:00 p.m. Friday, December 5.
“When officers arrived on scene they located a male with a wound on his neck and a witness,” a release from the police department said. “While on scene, officers were notified of a vehicle occupied by two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle near Harbins Rd and Harbins Point Ln in Lilburn.”
The two found in that vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, and the two scenes were determined to be related. Investigators then identified the suspect in the case as Javier Aragon Ruiz, age 54, and discovered he was traveling in Tennessee.
Tennessee State Troopers then reportedly found Ruiz and arrested him, booking him into the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office in Springfield, Tennessee.
The names of the victims have not yet been released. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Gwinnett County Police Department by calling 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta by calling 404-577-8477.
