Lula’s inaugural Chili Cook-Off is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026. This event is a central part of the city’s 150th Sesquicentennial (anniversary) celebrations.
Event Details
- Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
- Location: Lula Depot, 5911 Wall Street, Lula, GA.
- Host: Historical Society of Lula Bellton, in partnership with the City of Lula and local organizations.
Participation
- Contestants: There is a $25 entry fee for participants, who must prepare a minimum of 2 gallons of chili. The application deadline for teams is February 13, 2026. Note that while beans are allowed, rice and pasta fillers are prohibited.
- Guests: Community members can purchase a $5 sampling ticket, which includes a drink and the opportunity to taste all entries and vote for their favorite
